In 1973 a group of women from the church and the neighborhood decided to come together once a week for fellowship, light refreshments and to share their knitting abilities for the good of the surrounding communities. Some 35 years later many scarfs, hats, quilts, sweaters have been created for such organizations as Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Ministry on the River, folks that are in nursing home and shut-ins.

Under the leadership of Carol Davidson and Prue Stanton many women from the community have offered their considerable gifts in the area of needle point, quilting and such. As an example, a few years back they made up 50 large Christmas boxes that contained 10 scarfs, 10 knit caps, 2 tins of homemade cookies, paperback books, religious reading materials and even videos. These boxes were delivered to the local Coast Guard to be distributed to the men and women who serve on the barges that move up and down the Ohio River day in and day out. Oe woman, Laverne Hughes, has knit hundreds of small caps sent to the local hospitals for to be worn by the newborn children.
