As the summer winds down and before the holiday season kicks in the church would like to implement a new program for its members. This program has been referred to as the "Small Groups". Father Angelo introduced this a few Sundays ago in his sermon. This is an opportunity for church members to come together to break bread, fellowship, pray and perhaps make closer friends in the Lord. The concept of small groups from the church community coming together is described by St Luke in Acts 2:42-47: 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

The program will begin this October. There will be 4 groups. Each group will have a facilitator. The facilitators are: Phyllis Armstrong, Father Angelo, Jeanne and Clark Oughterson, Emily Schneider and David Steinbrunner. Maximum number of participants per group is 8. The groups will be formed on a random basis. The meetings will take place at someone’s home every other week for a total of 3 sessions.

Look for additional information in the upcoming weeks. Consider getting involved and learning more about the people in your church community and maybe yourself along the way. Reply Forward
